Profile Studio Privacy Policy

What information Profile Studio accesses, how it is used, and how it is protected.

Overview

Profile Studio is a desktop application that helps you publish posts and manage content on LinkedIn through its official APIs. This policy explains what information we access, how we use it, and how we protect it.

What Information We Collect

When you use Profile Studio, we access only the information necessary to operate the application:

  • Your LinkedIn identity: Your name, email address, profile picture, and unique member ID provided by LinkedIn during sign-in.
  • Post data: The text, visibility settings, and metadata of posts you create and publish.
  • Application settings: Your preferences for theme, API configuration, and account information (stored locally on your computer).
  • Tokens: An access token from LinkedIn that allows the app to publish posts on your behalf (encrypted on your device).

We do not access, store, or transmit information about other people's LinkedIn profiles, connections, or private data.

How We Use Information

We use the information you provide only to:

  • Sign you in to the application using your LinkedIn account.
  • Publish posts to LinkedIn when you request it.
  • Display your profile information in the app (name, email, picture).
  • Save your post history and application settings on your device.
  • Maintain security and troubleshoot errors.

LinkedIn Integration

Profile Studio uses LinkedIn's official APIs. Your data is sent to LinkedIn's servers only when:

  1. You sign in (to authenticate your identity).
  2. You publish a post (to share it on LinkedIn).

All communication with LinkedIn uses secure encryption (HTTPS). We do not modify, intercept, or misuse your data in transit.

Security

  • Tokens: Your access token and client secret are encrypted using Windows Data Protection on your device and never sent anywhere except LinkedIn.
  • Storage: All settings and post history are stored on your computer, not on remote servers.
  • Sign-in: LinkedIn handles the actual authentication. Profile Studio receives only a token to act on your behalf.

Your Rights and Data Control

  • Access: You can view all information the app holds by checking your Settings.
  • Revoke access: You can disconnect your LinkedIn account at any time through Settings. This removes the stored token and signs you out.
  • Delete data: You can delete post history locally at any time.
  • LinkedIn account: You can revoke Profile Studio's permission in your LinkedIn account settings (visit linkedin.com/account/connected-apps).

Changes to This Policy

If we update this policy, the new version will be published here with a revision date. We recommend checking back occasionally.
